You will know that you are on the correct trail right away as you pass by this large mine just as you are leaving Animal Forks ghost town. Though I did not see any fences this must be open range land because of the sheep we passed. |

At Como Lake the trail splits once again. If you are not street legal you will have to go to the right of the wrecked truck to keep from back tracking, if you are street legal go left to continue to Corkscrew Gulch. |

 Even if you are not street legal I would recommend continuing on the trail to the Red Mountain Area. |
 Red Mountain 1 and 2 are similar in appearance to Red Cone Peak but the trail is easier and the mountains are much bigger. | |||
If you notice the creek coming from the Red Mountain area you will see that it is the same color as the mountains. |
The trail ends at Hwy 550 and there is a parking area there. If you are not street legal this is the end of the line for you. If you are turn left to go to Black Bear Pass or turn right to go to California Gulch for the completion of the Alpine Loop. | |||
