Coal Creek ATV and Dirt Bike Trails

Coal Creek

Coal Creek is the best riding area I have been to in the Southeast.   This area has something for everyone who enjoys off-roading. Coal Creek has trails for ATVs, Motorcycles, Rail Buggies, Jeeps, and Mountain Bikes.

Coal Creek ATV

This Picture was taken on trail #16. For some reason this trail was much muddier than the other trails, especially from the point were it splits from trail #2 until it pass the water fall.

Coal Creek Trails

When wet the hills on trail #16 are tuff for dirt bikers. On one hill we actually were picking up speed while sliding down the hill with our brakes locked.

Windrock ATV

Though motorcycles usually pass ATVs this was not the case on the muddy parts of trail #16

Coal Creek

Here is a picture of me doing everyone's favorite, a tire repair in the mud. If it were not for my Moose Tube Fender Pack and tire irons I would have had a big problem.  Coal Creek is a large area so be prepare to make repairs a long ways from the parking lot.

CCMMC

This picture was taken on trial #21. Trail #21 is rated as moderate but I felt like it should have been rated difficult. The trail has several very steep and rocky places. If you don't feel confident in your riding ability stay away.

Cold Creek

A good Jumping area on trail G1, there are also several large mud holes on this trail to play in but are easy to bypass.

Coal Creek

One of several small hill climbs near the end of G4

Wind Mill

The wind mills at the end of G4. The sizes of the wind mills are impressive if you have never seen wind mills like this before.

Round Rock

There are great views from this point on trail G4. Trail #13 connects with G4 and was one of my favorites.

Coal Creek

This picture was taken on the north side of the riding area. I like this area this best, there many fast trail to ride on in this area, also there are not very many people on this is. The trails are not marked as well on the north side as they are on the south.

Windrock ATV

Coal Creek is also very popular with rail buggies. This group was attempting a hill climb, some did not make it.
